Q: What is the difference between trimless and trimmed recessed profiles?

A trimmed (flanged) profile has a visible lip that sits on the surface and hides the cut edge of the board, so the opening only has to be roughly accurate. A trimless profile is set into the plaster and finished over, leaving no visible frame — it needs a precise cut and plastering, but gives the cleanest line.

Q: How deep does a recessed LED profile need to be?

Depth is set by the profile height H plus the strip and diffuser. Slim channels need as little as 15 mm, while wide or up-and-down channels need 40–70 mm. Check the H dimension on the product page against the thickness of the board or plaster build-up you are working with before ordering.

Q: Can a recessed profile be used in plasterboard?

Yes — that is the most common application. Trimless versions are designed specifically for plasterboard and skim finish. For solid ceilings the channel is set into a chased groove and the flanged version is usually the safer detail.

Q: Can I retrofit a recessed profile into a finished ceiling?

It is possible, but the ceiling has to be cut and, for a trimless finish, re-plastered. Where the ceiling is already finished, a surface-mounted or suspended profile is usually the faster and less destructive choice — 5 of the profiles in this range can be mounted a second way from the same extrusion.

Q: Do recessed profiles include the diffuser and end caps?

Yes. The diffuser, end caps and connectors are supplied as accessories with the profile and are listed on each product page, so the channel arrives ready to install.

Decide the finish first — trimmed or trimless — because it determines how the opening is prepared and what depth you need. Then filter by strip width.

What is a recessed LED profile?

A recessed LED profile is an extruded aluminum channel set into a ceiling, wall or joinery surface so that the diffuser finishes level with the surrounding material. The channel carries the LED strip, dissipates its heat, and holds the diffuser flat, which is what produces an even line without the bright and dim spots you get from a bare strip.

There are two construction families. A flanged (trimmed) profile has a visible lip that covers the cut edge of the board, so the opening does not have to be perfect. A trimless profile is plastered in, leaving no visible frame at all — a far more demanding detail, but the cleanest result.

Three numbers decide the fit: the strip width the channel accepts, the recess depth you must cut into the substrate, and the outer width W of the body that has to sit inside the opening.

Drop height is set by cutting the suspension cables on site — the profile itself is unchanged.
