Q: What is the difference between a suspended and a surface-mounted LED profile?

A surface-mounted profile is screwed or clipped directly to the ceiling, so the fixture sits flush against it. A suspended profile is held below the ceiling on cables, which lets you set the drop height, level long runs across an uneven ceiling, and reduce glare by moving the light source away from the ceiling plane. 50 of the profiles in this range can also be mounted a second way, so the same extrusion covers more than one detail.

Q: How far can a suspended profile drop from the ceiling?

Drop length is set by the suspension cables, which are cut on site, so almost any drop is possible. What limits a run is not the drop but the span: long runs should be supported at intervals so the extrusion does not sag. Tell us your run length and ceiling height and we will confirm the cable spacing.

Q: Which strip width should I use for a suspended linear light?

This range accepts strips from 5 mm to 185 mm wide. Narrow channels (20–35 mm outer width) suit 8–15 mm strips and read as a thin line. Channels 36–90 mm wide take 20–40 mm strips, or two strips side by side for up-and-down emission. Anything above 90 mm is usually specified for a single wide, high-output strip or for dual-emitting up/down output.

Q: Do these profiles come with the suspension hardware?

Suspension ropes, end caps, connectors and the diffuser are supplied as accessories with the profile and are listed on each product page. Where a profile supports both suspended and surface mounting, the matching clips or brackets are supplied for the alternative mounting as well.

Q: What is the minimum order and lead time?

Standard profiles are sold from 20 meters per size, in 4 m lengths or cut to your custom length. Quick-turnaround sizes ship in 5–7 days; custom extrusion and finish runs are quoted with their own lead time.

Suspended LED profiles hang from the ceiling on cables, so the fixture itself becomes the line of light. Every channel below is extruded in 6063-T5 aluminum and sold by the meter. How to choose a suspended profile

Work in this order. Strip width is decided by the LED strip you have already specified; outer size is decided by how visible you want the fixture to be. Both are filterable above.

What is a suspended LED profile?

A suspended LED profile is an extruded aluminum channel that is held below the ceiling on steel suspension cables rather than being fixed flush to a surface. Because the channel is a rigid extrusion, it carries the LED strip, spreads its heat, and holds the diffuser perfectly straight over long runs — which is what makes a clean, unbroken line possible in a room with an uneven ceiling.

Suspended mounting is chosen for three reasons. It removes the need for a recess or a plastered ceiling detail, so it can be added to a finished room. It allows the drop height to be adjusted on site, which keeps long runs level. And it separates the light source from the ceiling plane, so glare is reduced and the fixture reads as a design object instead of a fitting.

Three numbers decide whether a profile suits your build: the strip width it accepts (5–185 mm in this range), the outer width W, and the outer height H — the last one sets how much the fixture drops below the ceiling.

Drop height is set by cutting the suspension cables on site — the profile itself is unchanged.
