Project Description

Marina Bay Inn, a 240-room hotel in Singapore’s Marina Bay district, installed the HELIAN HL-A009 wall-mounted bed-light profile in every guest room. The HL-A009 provides dual-direction illumination from a single profile — 7 mm-wide up-lighting and 22 mm-wide down-lighting — designed specifically for hotel, residential, VIP nursing and VIP business-room bed-head use.

User Pain Points and Needs

• Need 1 — Comfortable up/down reading light. Guests needed indirect ceiling wash plus direct reading light from a single fixture.
• Need 2 — Professional optical design. The bed-light had to deliver a soft, glare-free reading field and a uniform ceiling wash simultaneously.
• Need 3 — Clean wall mounting. The stainless-steel pothook and plastic mounting tray had to allow safe, repeatable installation across 240 rooms.
• Need 4 — Single-cover diffuser family. Both the up and down optics had to come from the same HELIAN cover family.

Solution

HELIAN supplied the HL-A009 profile from its A-Series:

• Body: AL 6063 aluminium with anodised or painted silver surface.
• Lighting source width: 7 mm (up) / 22 mm (down).
• Cover: PC / PMMA; Cover Model A009 / A001.
• Accessories: End Cap (Plastic), Mounting Tray, Pothook (Stainless steel), Suspended Rope (Set), Connector.
• Longueur : 4 m / max.

Implementation Results

• Dual-direction bed light. 7 mm up + 22 mm down channels delivered both ceiling wash and reading light from a single profile.
• Repeatable installation. The stainless pothook + plastic mounting tray gave the contractor a consistent mounting across all 240 rooms.
• Guest comfort. Glare-free reading field and uniform ceiling wash passed the guest-experience focus group’s review with top ratings.
• Maintenance access. Push-in PC / PMMA cover allows strip replacement without removing the bed-light housing.
• Quantified outcome. 240 bed-lights installed across all rooms with a single profile SKU; guest-survey reading-light satisfaction rose from 78% to 96%, and the bedside re-lamping cycle dropped to 3 minutes per room.
