What is an LED ceiling profile?

An LED ceiling profile is an extruded aluminium channel that carries an LED strip and fixes into a ceiling — either into a pocket formed by a drop or shadow gap, or recessed into the plasterboard itself. The channel holds the strip, takes a diffuser, and sets the line the light reads as.

What is the difference between a ceiling profile and a cove profile?

Both are aluminium channels. A cove channel hides in a pocket above the sight line and throws its output across the ceiling, so the strip is never visible. A recessed ceiling profile sits in the board itself, so the diffuser stays in view as a defined line. The choice is about whether you want the source hidden or expressed.

How do I pick the right strip width?

The channel is tooled for a band of strip widths, and that number is the first hard limit. In this range the accepted strip width runs from 7 mm to 63 mm. Filter by the strip you already buy, then check the outer height against the pocket you can build.

Can these profiles be used in a plasterboard or false ceiling?

Most of this range is recessed, and the majority of those are plaster-in bodies: the flange is buried in the board and only the opening remains visible. The drawing for each model gives the outer dimensions the cut-out has to clear.

Do the profiles come with a diffuser and end caps?

Diffuser and accessory options differ by model. What each channel ships with is listed on its specification sheet — use the PDF button on any card to check before you specify.

What if nothing in the list matches my ceiling detail?

A bendable body follows a radius continuously, so the light line does not facet the way a series of straight sections does.

What buyers ask before specifying this group

How tight a radius can it take?

That is specific to each body and is stated on its datasheet — it is not a single figure for the group. Send us the radius and we will match it to the section.

Why silicone rather than a normal diffuser?

A rigid diffuser does not survive being bent. All five bodies in this group are built with a silicone cover for that reason.

Can it be used on a straight run too?

Yes. The bodies can be run straight; they are simply the ones that also bend.

Is it plaster-in only?

In this range, yes. All five are plaster-in bodies, so the flange is buried in the board.

What about a curve in the other plane?

Bend direction is a property of the profile. Tell us which way the curve turns relative to the opening and we will confirm the body.

What determines the minimum bend radius?

The body and the cover together — it is not one figure for the whole group. Give us the radius your detail needs and we will say which body reaches it. Set the radius before the board goes on, because plaster-in bodies are fixed at first fix.
