Project Description

Mitte Concept Boutique, a 280 m² fashion flagship in central Berlin, installed continuous linear light lines at the wall-ceiling junction of the retail floor, the fitting rooms and the back-office corridor. The HELIAN HL-A002 ceiling-corner profile was specified because it accepts a max 13 mm wide LED strip on its main face and a max 7 mm wide strip on its inner corner, allowing the same profile to wash the wall side and the ceiling side at independent brightness.

User Pain Points and Needs

• Need 1 — Two-direction wash from one channel. The design called for asymmetric brightness on wall vs ceiling from a single fixture line in the corner.
• Need 2 — Continuous, gap-free corner runs. Retail walls of up to 8 m required single-piece lines through 90° ceiling corners without mid-span joints.
• Need 3 — Concealed corner installation. The profile had to disappear into the drywall corner with only the diffuser face visible.
• Need 4 — One supplier for profile and optics. PC and PMMA diffusers had to come from the same manufacturer as the profile body.

Solution

HELIAN supplied the HL-A002 profile from its A-Series:

• Body: AL 6063 aluminium with anodised or painted silver surface.
• Lighting source width: max 13 mm / max 7 mm (asymmetric dual-channel).
• Cover (PC / PMMA push-in): PC; Cover Model BAPL001 / BAPL02S.
• Accessories: End Cap, Clip, Suspended Rope (Set), Connector.
• Longueur : 4 m / max.
• Application: Éclairage d'angle au plafond.

Implementation Results

• Asymmetric corner wash. The 13 mm and 7 mm channels delivered independently dimmed wall and ceiling illumination from a single corner fixture.
• 8 m single runs. Per-side runs up to 8 m were supplied in 4 m stock lengths and joined cleanly at the corner.
• Concealed profile. Only the diffuser face is visible; the aluminium body hides fully in the drywall corner.
• Fire / smoke compliance. PC cover across the entire scheme satisfied the building code with a single material declaration.
• Quantified outcome. 320 m of HL-A002 installed across retail, fitting rooms and corridor; the dual-channel scheme cut fixture count by 33% vs the originally specified separate wall and ceiling strips.
