Project Description

King West Studio, a 320 m² film-and-photography studio in Toronto, installed the HELIAN HL-A008 suspended profile along its 12 m shooting bay ceilings and the production-office corridor. The 34 mm source width fits the studio’s standard high-CRI LED strip, while the stainless-steel mounting clip survives the studio’s variable humidity from set construction.

User Pain Points and Needs

  • Need 1 — Humidity-resistant hardware. The studio’s set construction introduces humidity spikes; mild-steel clips were forbidden by the specifier.
  • Need 2 — Mid-width source. The studio’s chosen 34 mm LED strip had to fit the profile exactly.
  • Need 3 — Continuous 12 m runs. The shooting-bay ceilings needed gap-free 12 m runs.
  • Need 4 — Recessed / suspended dual mount. Some zones were recessed, others suspended; one profile family had to cover both.

Implementation Results

  • Stainless-steel durability. Stainless clips survived the studio’s humidity cycles with no corrosion after 6 months of operation.
  • 34 mm strip fit. Standard high-CRI strips dropped in without re-stripping.
  • Long shooting-bay runs. Three 4 m stock lengths were joined at the support positions for a continuous 12 m run.
  • Dual-mount flexibility. The same profile served both the suspended bay ceiling and the recessed office corridor.
  • Quantified outcome. 410 m of HL-A008 installed across shooting bays and office corridor; the colour-rendering uniformity check at handover passed within ±5% across all bays.
